Stress is a major factor in energy levels

Why? 

Your body is digesting in survival mode. It will take what it needs to give you the short burst of energy to run (like running away from a tiger).

Studies have shown your body relates to emotional stress exactly the same as survival or physical stress.

Low energy is the reason we use for not going to the gym, not making dinner or not giving ourselves a little love.

I want you to know, it is a good reason, you are tired because it is EXHAUSTING being stressed. Your body has just spent the day running from a tiger, it needs rest to recover, to heal.

It can be a vicious cycle, the more stressed we are, the more habits we pick up to boost the energy, which then saps all energy reserves and the less energy we have, the more stressed we get. It’s not like any of us actually gets any value from drinking the energy drinks, eating chocolate, slumping before the tv or not playing with the kids.

Here’s what you have to know before I share these AMAZING tips with you. What you are doing now is perfect for what is happening right now. Your body is doing an excellent job of keeping you alive, right? You are here, living with an amazing body which does incredible things just for you!

Now, it’s the small actions over time that drive us to a long-term result by changing habit-by-habit along the way.

Let’s start today with two small but very significant actions you can implement with ease to boost your energy immediately and reduce stress. In fact, pause your reading and do them right now!

1. Put both your feet firmly on the ground, sit up (or stand up) straight with your shoulders pulled back to open your heart, close your eyes and take ten full, DEEP breaths in and out… in and out…in and out… slow them right down

How do you feel? Calmer? More energised? More relaxed? That’s where the magic happens. Use this technique any time and all the time. Sometimes the energy is there, it just needs oxygen to release it.

2. You’ve heard of positive affirmations right? Well I believe they actually work! Why? Because your body is not going to do what you tell it to do unless your mind believes it first! (Or you trick your mind into believing it) so think of a short, sweet sentence that I like to call your motivational MANTRA so that you can instantly become your own energy-boosting guru…

Here are some ENERGIZING examples to get you started:·

I choose to feel energized!

I breathe in energy and exhale stress

I am committed to energizing myself

Choose one that resonates with you or change up the words, write it on a sticky note and stick it on top of your computer or bathroom mirror. Then read it or memorize it and say it out loud to yourself six times today and watch what happens…

How will calming my body and mind give me more energy?

Let me put it this way… water will not flow well through a blocked up pipe. Similarly, your energy or lifeforce is not going to flow well if you’re all tensed up, agitated or on guard.

So, with STEP 1, you are learning to quiet your mind, calm your own nervous system and SAVE energyfor you to use later when you really need it!

And with STEP 2 you will be amazed at the results over time if you say your mantra over and over again.You may even find that by the end of day one your mind will start to believe it and your body will follow!

Why?

Because that’s the way our minds work! They start to believe what we tell them to believe. It really is that simple.
